Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 January 2026

Regihoster ("we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It applies to our website and to the domain registration and related services we provide.

1. Who we are

Regihoster is the data controller responsible for the personal data processed in connection with our services, except where we act as a processor on behalf of a customer. For any privacy question, contact us at contact@regihoster.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Registration & contact data: name, email address, postal address, telephone number, company name and similar details you provide when requesting or registering a domain or contacting us.
  • Domain & account data: the domains you register or manage, technical settings such as DNS records, and records of your requests and communications with us.
  • Abuse-report data: information you submit when reporting abuse, including your name, email and the details of the report.
  • Technical & usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and similar information collected automatically when you use our website, including for security and fraud-prevention purposes.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • process domain requests and register, renew, transfer and manage domains;
  • create and administer your account and provide customer support;
  • meet our obligations to registries and comply with applicable registry and regulatory requirements;
  • investigate and respond to abuse reports and protect the security and integrity of our services;
  • send service-related communications, such as expiration and renewal notices;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the services you request); compliance with a legal obligation (including registry and regulatory requirements); our legitimate interests (such as securing our services and preventing abuse), balanced against your rights; and, where applicable, your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).

5. Domain registration data & WHOIS

When you register a domain, certain registrant and contact information must be provided to the relevant registry and may be processed in public or restricted WHOIS/RDAP directories, in accordance with the rules of that registry and applicable law. We apply data-minimisation and, where available and permitted, measures to limit the public display of personal data. You remain responsible for ensuring that the registration data you provide is accurate and lawful.

6. Sharing & disclosure

We share personal data only as necessary:

  • with domain registries and registry-designated operators, to register and maintain your domains;
  • with service providers that support our operations (such as hosting, email delivery and payment processing), under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms;
  • with competent authorities, courts or accredited dispute-resolution providers, where required by law or to respond to valid legal process;
  • in connection with the protection of our rights, the prevention of fraud, or the safety of users and the public.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Because the domain name system and our service providers operate globally, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where such transfers occur, we put in place appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the services, to maintain domain registrations, and to comply with legal, accounting and regulatory obligations. Registration data may be retained for the life of the domain and for a reasonable period afterwards. Abuse-report records are retained as needed to handle the report and to support the security of our services.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

10. Cookies & similar technologies

Our website is designed to function with a minimal set of technologies. We use only those cookies or local storage that are necessary for the website to operate — for example, retaining the contents of your domain cart in your browser. We do not use this storage to track you across other websites. Any future use of analytics or non-essential cookies would be subject to your prior consent where required.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to request correction of inaccurate data; to request erasure; to object to or restrict certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact contact@regihoster.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

12. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults and for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, services or legal obligations. The current version is always available on this page with the "last updated" date shown above. We encourage you to review it periodically.

14. Contact
